Last Updated: Mar 7th, 2008 - 20:27:03
Email this article

The group explores the process of carbohydrate food digestion and the resulting rise in blood glucose levels. The visual aids help people to identify the symptoms of diabetes and how these may be alleviated by lifestyle changes and, if necessary, tablets and/or insulin. The role of obesity and physical inactivity is also discussed in the aetiology of Type 2 diabetes with emphasis on lifestyle change.
