The X-PERT Programme curriculum contains the following: • the aim of the structured patient education programme and learning objectives; • a list of the materials and visual aids required and the learning styles used; • a full script of the six-week programme; • a patient registration form and register template; • detailed lesson plans; • evaluation programme to ensure that outcomes are audited; • quality assurance programme to assess the environment, structure, process content, use of materials, programme delivery and evaluation and outcome data. • patient handouts and a CD ROM to allow the printing of handouts as required.
